Scheme supervisor
An independent organisation that looks after a KiwiSaver scheme for its members. The supervisor holds the scheme's money and decides on early withdrawal applications, such as for hardship.
Every KiwiSaver scheme must have one, and it needs to be licensed by the Financial Markets Authority. The supervisor is separate from the provider that manages your fund.
